First, make sure ZonePulse is actually installed on your watch, not just your iPhone — open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll down to ZonePulse, and tap Install if it isn't already. ZonePulse will show a banner on its Home screen if it detects a paired watch without the app on it. If it's already installed, make sure your watch is on your wrist, unlocked, and within Bluetooth/Wi-Fi range of your iPhone, then try sending the workout again.
Your target zones are calculated from your Max HR, set on the iPhone app's Home screen. Double-check it there. If you just changed it, give it a few seconds to sync to your watch before starting a workout.
This resolves itself within a second or two once the watch confirms the session has started — no action needed. If it persists, force-quit both apps and reopen them.
Health access lets ZonePulse read your live heart rate during a workout and save completed workouts back to Apple Health. Location access (used only while a workout is active) lets it record your route and measure distance. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture — short version: none of this data leaves your device.
Locally, on your iPhone only. There's no account and no cloud sync yet, so history doesn't carry over if you switch phones — it's backed up along with the rest of your device if you use iCloud/iTunes device backups.
Discarding is intentionally hard to trigger — the watch requires a 1.5-second press-and-hold specifically to prevent accidental taps. If a workout was genuinely discarded, it wasn't written to Apple Health or your history, and unfortunately can't be recovered.
Tap the language toggle in the top corner of either the iPhone or watch app — it switches instantly and independently of your device's system language.
The iPhone app lets you plan workouts and review history, but live workout tracking — heart rate, zones, haptic alerts — requires a paired Apple Watch, since that's what actually runs the workout session.
