ZonePulse is a heart-rate-zone training app for Apple Watch with an iPhone companion. This page explains what data the app touches, where it goes, and — short version — it stays on your own devices. We don't run a server, we don't have an account system yet, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone.
During an active workout, ZonePulse uses Apple's HealthKit framework to read:
| Data type | Why |
|---|---|
| Heart rate | To show your live BPM and tell whether you're inside your target zone. |
| Active energy (calories) | Displayed as a live stat during and after your workout. |
| Distance (walking/running, cycling) | Displayed as a live stat and in your workout summary. |
This data is read directly from HealthKit on your device for the duration of the workout. It is never transmitted anywhere — there is no server for it to go to.
When you save a completed workout, ZonePulse writes a standard HealthKit workout (type, duration, calories, distance) back to the Health app, the same way any other fitness app does. Discarding a workout instead of saving it writes nothing.
While a workout is running, ZonePulse uses your iPhone or Apple Watch's location (via Core Location, "while using the app") solely to record your route and measure distance. This location data is written into the workout's route in Apple Health, exactly like Apple's own Workout app. It is not collected outside of an active workout and is never sent to us or anyone else.
Saved on your iPhone only, in local app storage. Never uploaded.
Saved locally and synced directly between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework — a direct device-to-device link that does not pass through any server, because we don't operate one.
Whether you're using the app in Arabic or English is saved locally on each device.
At this time these fields are placeholder values for demonstration — ZonePulse does not yet have user accounts or sign-in. If account functionality is added in a future version, this policy will be updated first, and it will describe exactly what's collected and why before that feature ships.
If your heart rate drifts outside your target zone, ZonePulse sends a local notification on your Apple Watch to let you know. This is an on-device notification — it is generated and delivered entirely on your watch, not routed through a push notification service or any server.
You can review and revoke ZonePulse's access to Health and Location data at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health and Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes all locally stored workout history, zone settings, and preferences from your device. Workouts already saved to Apple Health are managed through the Health app itself, per Apple's own data controls.
ZonePulse is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. Since the app has no account system and no data leaves the device, no personal data is collected from any user, regardless of age, beyond what's described above.
If ZonePulse's data practices change — for example, if a future account or cloud-sync feature is introduced — this page will be updated with a new "Last updated" date before that feature is released, and the change will be described plainly, in the same terms as above.
